Återbrukad jeansskjorta med broderi och applikationer
En hyllning till mönsterdrottningen Iris Apfel, en av mina idoler. Hon hade en fantastisk karisma och ett av hennes kända citat var – ”More is More and Less is a Bore”. Det brukar jag också ofta känna, att livet blir ju alltid lite roligare med mer färg och mönster. 😊 Så våga bära plagg och accessoarer så som Iris! Denna skjorta är mitt bidrag där jag blir lite mer som Iris, som förövrigt också min dotter heter.

Mönsterkonstruktion och klädsömnad, Vävt bomullstyg
Under min utbildning till textilslöjdlärare var en av alla uppgifter att formge och konstruera mönster till ett livplagg inspirerat från ett årtionde. Valet landade på 1960-talen med en A-linjeformad klänning med krage, knappslå och stolpfickor i stormönstrat vävt bomullstyg. En riktigt mönsterfest med både skapat papper- och tygmönster. 😊

Yllebroderi, vävt band och växtfärgning
En återbrukad yllefilt har fått nytt liv som kudde, med mönster av olika färger, former, linjer och stygn. Tyget till kuddens ena del har jag växtfärgat. Sedan har jag dekorerat genom yllebroderi och ett vävt band, båda två tekniker som jag njuter mycket av att utföra. Nålens och vävningens upp och ner-rörelse är så otroligt rogivande. Kanske kan kudden få dig inspirerad också att vilja testa?!

Lappteknik av återbrukade bomullstyger och jeans
Av kvadrater, remsor och trianglar uppstår mönster. Som den återbruksnörd jag är så uppskattar jag att även den minsta lilla spilltygbiten kan få ett värde och bidrar till en större helhet. Till detta tygspillspussel har jag hämtat inspiration ifrån höstens alla fantastiska färger.

Broderi och applikationer, ull och lin
På en bit av grått ylletyg framträder min passion genom att mina händer trär nålen upp och ner och fäster stygn och tygbitar med ull och lingarn i ett givet mönster. Det handgjorda skapandet, som också är mitt jobb och välbefinnande.

Recycled denim shirt with embroidery and appliqués
A tribute to the pattern queen Iris Apfel, one of my idols. She had a fantastic charisma and one of her famous quotes was – “More is More and Less is a Bore”. I also often feel that life is always a little more fun with more color and pattern. 😊 So dare to wear garments and accessories like Iris! This shirt is my contribution where I become a little more like Iris, which is also my daughter’s name.

Pattern construction and garment sewing, Woven cotton fabric
During my training as a textile crafts teacher, one of the tasks was to design and construct patterns for a body garment inspired by a decade. The choice landed on the 1960s with an A-line dress with a collar, button placket and front pockets in large-patterned woven cotton fabric. A real pattern party with both created paper and fabric patterns. 😊

Wool embroidery, woven ribbon and plant dyeing
A recycled wool blanket has been given new life as a pillow, with patterns of different colors, shapes, lines and stitches. I have dyed the fabric for one part of the pillow with vegetable dyes. Then I have decorated it with wool embroidery and a woven ribbon, both techniques that I really enjoy doing. The up and down movement of the needle and the weaving is so incredibly soothing. Maybe the pillow can inspire you to want to try it too?!

Patchwork technique of recycled cotton fabrics and jeans
Patterns emerge from squares, strips and triangles. As the recycling nerd that I am, I appreciate that even the smallest piece of waste fabric can have value and contribute to a greater whole. For this waste fabric puzzle, I have drawn inspiration from all the fantastic colors of autumn.

Embroidery and appliqués, wool and linen
On a piece of gray wool fabric, my passion emerges as my hands thread the needle up and down and attach stitches and pieces of fabric with wool and linen yarn in a given pattern. The handmade creation, which is also my job and well-being.
